Meet the Long Beach Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door
We’re not a franchise. We’re not a call center with a rotating cast of subcontractors. We’re a small crew of people who live in and around Long Beach, and most of us grew up here. The person who answers your call works out of the same shop as the person who shows up at your door. That keeps us honest. We know each other’s work, we know each other’s habits, and we know that if one of us cuts a corner, the rest of us hear about it at the next job. Otto has run the shop since 2004, and every person on this page carries his name on their shirt.
Our People
Otto Reinhardt – Owner, Long Beach
Otto started this company in 2004 with one truck, a set of winding bars, and a promise to answer his own phone. Twenty-nine years in garages have taught him that most problems come down to two things: a spring that’s tired or a track that’s fighting the door. He still quotes jobs on the call and holds that number when he arrives. If you call after hours, that’s often Otto himself picking up at nine at night. He counts spring cycles the way other people count miles on a car, and he’ll tell you exactly what’s left on yours before he recommends anything. The 90-Day Done Right Promise is his idea, his wording, and his phone number if it ever needs to be used.
Marcus T. – Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Otto for eleven years, and he’s the person we send when a door has stumped someone else. He’s factory-trained on LiftMaster and Chamberlain openers, and he can rebuild a Wayne Dalton torque tube in under an hour. Marcus grew up in Bixby Knolls and still lives there with his wife and a very spoiled rescue dog named Lugnut. If your garage door makes a sound you can’t describe, describe it to Marcus anyway. He’ll know what it is from the noise.
Elena R. – Senior Installer
Elena leads our new door and full replacement installs, and she’s the reason we can offer the Done Right Promise on new work without blinking. She’s certified on Clopay, Amarr, and Raynor product lines, and she’s hung more than 700 doors in Long Beach, Lakewood, and Signal Hill. Before garage doors, she framed houses for six years, so she understands load, level, and the consequences of a bad measurement. On weekends, Elena coaches youth soccer at Heartwell Park. She’s the fastest square-measurement in the crew, and nobody argues with her about it.
Danny K. – Service Coordinator and Apprentice Tech
Danny is usually the first voice you hear when you call the shop during the day. He’s been with us for four years, starting as a parts runner and working his way into install and repair training under Marcus. Danny handles scheduling, parts ordering, and the free second-opinion requests. He’s also the person who calls you back at 2 a.m. when the on-call truck is on its way, so you know who’s coming and what they look like. Danny is a Cal State Long Beach night student studying engineering, which means he takes apart broken openers on his lunch break to see what happened inside.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this crew follows the same five rules, and Otto wrote them himself. Show up when you say you will. Quote the price on the phone and hold it at the door. Write the 90-Day Done Right Promise on every invoice, no exceptions. Wear the uniform, keep the truck clean, and treat the homeowner’s driveway like it’s your own. And if something isn’t right, one call brings Otto back personally, not a customer-service queue. Every job in Long Beach and every job across the county gets the same standard, because the person doing the work lives twenty minutes from the person who signs the check. That’s not a corporate policy. That’s the whole business model.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Otto Reinhardt founded the company in 2004 and still owns and operates it today. The address on the website is a real shop in Long Beach, not a virtual office, and the license number is published for anyone to verify. When you call, you reach a person here, not a national call center.
The person who answers your call knows exactly who’s on the schedule, and Danny or Otto will tell you the technician’s name before they arrive. Our techs are background-checked, uniformed, and trained across all major brands including LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor. If you’d like, we’ll text you a name and arrival window before the truck leaves the shop.
It means exactly what it says. If we repair or install something and it’s not done right, we come back and make it right within ninety days, in writing, on every invoice. One call to Otto brings him back, no runaround and no arguing about who’s at fault. That promise covers parts and labor on every garage door job we do.
Yes. A live person answers around the clock, including holidays. Late-night calls often go straight to Otto’s phone, and he’ll quote the job on that call. If your spring lets go at nine at night and your vehicle is sealed inside the garage, call (562) 373-6685. Someone will pick up.
Most repairs in Long Beach run between $120 and $450 depending on what’s failed. A broken spring replacement typically lands between $180 and $340, while an opener gear or circuit board can run $150 to $300 plus the part. The price you’re quoted on the phone is the price you pay at the door, no matter what we find when we open the panel. We also offer $40 off any repair over $200, a free second opinion on any written estimate, and no trip charge inside the home county. Call (562) 373-6685 for an exact quote, it’s free and takes about five minutes.
No. Otto quotes the job on the phone and holds that number when he gets there. If we discover something additional that needs attention, we’ll show you what we found, explain what it costs, and get your approval before doing anything. We never revise a price upward at the door without your sign-off first.
Yes. Our trucks are stocked with common springs, cables, rollers, hinges, sensors, and opener parts for all major brands. That means most repairs are completed in a single visit. For specialty doors or unusual sizes, we may need to order a specific part, but Marcus will tell you upfront if that’s the case and when it will arrive.
